well I've just bought a 15th century dagger from an antique shop, I was planning to put a pic of it up here..but its such an anal rigmarole, I've given up on it. It was apparently found in the mud of the Thames at the site of the old London bridge in 1970. I handled a dagger and a sword in the Royal Armouries from the same location. It makes you wonder why they ended up in the river, perhaps a murder weapon?..maybe the owner was still wearing it when it went in?!..fascinating thought. Mark L has a copy of the pic, maybe YOU could post it up here mate?!

I'd suggest sticking it up on SFI and seeing what they think.

Hard to tell without handling it, but it looks like a utility/eating knife from the shape of that blade, rather than a fighty stabby thing.

its edged on the bottom of the blade, but too big and heavy for a 'scoff rod'.
